BIOGRAPHY

I was born and grew up in the town of Banská Štiavnica (Central Slovakia), Czechoslovakia, where I attended elementary and high school. At an early age I was attracted to nature and cut my birding teeth in the 1970s. Following a degree in forestry at a college in Brno I started my career in academic ornithology in the late 1980s, and I have lived in the Czech Republic since.
