| 2013-10-07 | The way we used to be… We cordially invite you to the exhibition of photographs from the life of the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry AS CR since its founding 60 years ago to the present. The exhibition can be seen until the end of the year 2013. Photos – see a small sample on the poster attached – mostly found employees of IOCB in their archives and private albums, and signed them to the photo competition organized by the library. All photographs, whether professional photos or amateur snapshots, have a great documentary value. We would like to once again thank to all who contributed to the exhibition with their photographs. |

| 2013-10-02 | There is a trial access for IOCB to the database MEDLINE Complete until 15.11.2013. The trial access is set via EBSCOhost through the IP address of the institution. For more information see attachment. |
| 2013-09-05 | There is a trial access for AS CR to the other databases of Thomson Reuters until 10.10.2013. Web of Knowledge Solutions include the following products: • Data Citation Index (since 1900) • Derwent Innovations Index (since 1963) • Biosys Citation Index (since 1969) • Zoological Records (since 1978) • Current Content Connect (since 1998) • Medline (since 1950) To search in the same settings as before, search under "Web of Science" (WoS citation indexes, Conference Proceedings and Book Citation Index). If you want to try advanced search (in all trial databases incl. WoS citation indexes, Conference Proceedings and Book Citation Index), then use the tab "All Databases". The third option is to select in "All Databases" a specific database in which you want to do your search. |

| 2013-06-07 | Change in the use of SciFinder. SciFinder is a tool for searching chemical, biochemical or medical information from scientific literature, patents, etc. Since now, entry is possible AT ANY TIME from ANY COMPUTER of IOCB for all employees who sign up at the library (Reprography, door 286, Jakub Šimon, phone 417). Users acknowledge to comply with the license agreement, and to use SciFinder only for non-commercial scientific and research purposes. Users must not disclose or lend their password to anyone or allow unauthorized people access to the database on their registration. |
| 2013-02-01 | New online journals in 2013: Nature Structural and Molecular Biology RSC – Gold Package –(extended number of journals) New online journals since 2013 (until 2013 only in print version): Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Science Other news: Patai's Chemistry of Functional Groups (database purchased since October 2012) SciFinder – we assume that in the half of 2013 we will have full availability of the database from all all IOCB computers including remote access!!!! Terminated subscriptions since 2013: Časopis lékařů českých, Česká a slovenská farmacie, Endocrine Regulations, European Journal of Mass Spectrometry, Farmaceutický obzor, Nanomedicine Since 2013 there will be only 10 paid journals in print version (21. století, Biochemical Journal, Cell, European Journal of Entomology, Chemické listy, Scientific American, Synfacts, Synlett, Synthesis and Vesmír) Approximately 25 journals that we obtain as a gift or in exchange. All other journals are online only. If you have any problems with the availability of journals (from IOCB computers or through remote access), please contact the library at library@uochb.cas.cz, we will immediately get in contact with the suppliers. With the availability of approximately 10000 journals we are not able to discover all technical outages. |
