Research interests

  • condition dependence in sexually selected ornaments,
  • physiology of ageing and life-history evolution,
  • physiological and oxidative stress ecology.

Education

  • 1998–2004: undergraduate study - University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Medicine. MVDr.(=DVM) thesis: Prevalence of Tumours and Antibodies against Leukosis and Sarcoma Viruses of Subgroups A and B in Breeding and Production Flocks of Layers, (supervisor L.Kulíková).
  • 2004–2007: Ph.D. study - University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine; Avian, Reptile and Small Mammal Medicine. Ph.D. thesis: PCR Detection and Treatment of Psittacine Viral Infections and Host Specificity of Beak and Feather Disease Virus, (supervisor V.Tukač).
  • 2009-present: Ph.D. study - Charles University Prague, Faculty of Science, Zoology. Ph.D. thesis: Mechanisms of condition dependence of sexually selected ornaments in birds.
