The goal of the project is to study migratory connectivity in a model long-distance migratory species, the Eurasian reed warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus). To this end, we will employ a combination of three approaches (i) conventional ring re-encounter data, (ii) stable isotope analysis, and (iii) detailed tracking by miniature light-level geolocators. Thanks to this combination of methods we will determine the extent of migratory connectivity in this species and its consequences for survival of populations using different migratory pathways and non-breeding grounds.
