Electronic processes in molecular nanojunctions
Senior scientist. I did my PhD on energy level alignment at metal/organic and organic/organic interfaces at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with Fernando Flores. I then moved to the field of single molecule transport theory, in postdoctoral stays with Antti-Pekka Jauho and Mads Brandbyge at DTU-Nanotech, and Latha Venkataraman and Mark Hybertsen at Columbia University and Brookhaven National Lab. On my way back to Europe, I worked on exciton dissociation and organic photovoltaics as a postdoc with Alessandro Troisi at the University of Warwick. I arrived to Prague on a J.E. Purkyně fellowship and started the Molecular Transport Group.
Postdoc. I obtained my MSc in Physics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), Brazil. Then I did my PhD in Material Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Saudi Arabia, under the supervision of Udo Schwingenschlögl. I studied electron transport phenomena in nanowires, nanotubes, and other low-dimensional systems, in order to evaluate their performance as field effect transistors, magnetic tunneling junctions or gas sensors. I used Density functional theory and Non-Equilibrium Green’s Functions methods. In Prague I am working on theoretical methods to investigate molecular transport.
PhD student. I did a MSc in Computational Materials Science from the Technical University Bergekademie Freiberg, Germany. I worked on the atomistic modeling of dislocation/precipitate interaction in magnesium alloys during my master thesis. In Prague I am inscribed in the PhD program at Charles University. I am working on theoretical methods based on DFT to investigate molecular quantum transport.
PhD student. I obtained my MSc in Physical Chemistry at the Charles University in Prague. During this period I worked as a master student at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry AS CR, in the field of optical phenomena under the supervision of Peter Černoch. I am currently working as a doctoral student at the Institute of Physics, combining experiments and simulations. I am working on nanostructures for solar cells under the supervision of Antonín Fejfar, Aliaksei Vetushka and Martin Ledinský, and Héctor for the simulations.
