Summer Schools and Short-term Courses 2021

The new list of Summer Schools and other short-term courses for 2021 offered by the Charles University faculties and institutes is available in the table below.

We intend to open some of our Summer Schools in-person if the Covid-19 situation allows it. Most of the programmes will be provided online if the circumstances, government guidelines and the situation in the country require. Some of the programmes are already offered online. The final format of individual schools will be determined by the Covid-19 situation in the Czech Republic.

With regard to the world pandemic of Covid-19, please follow the websites of the faculties for updates.

During a 3-day course young scientists who do their research in the field of immunology will gain a wide range of information on primary immunodeficiencies. The school will be run by experts in research and clinical practice from both the Czech Republic and abroad. The venue is in an attractive location of Kutná Hora.

Writing on the Fringe. Cuneiform Traditions in the Peripheries Only In-person	September 12 - 19, 2021	August 2021		The aim of this Summer School is to present will present a snapshot of the current situation and trends in the Ancient Near Eastern philology, as well as political and social history of the region.
Boris Nemtsov Summer School of Journalism and Sociocultural Studies In-person (ONLINE if necessary)	July 12 - 30, 2021	April 1, 2021		This three-week intensive programme focuses on practical journalistic skills, as well as, sharing experience. Young journalists, bloggers, media activists from Russia, Ukraine, post-Soviet countries, Europe and the USA are welcome to join in. The language of instruction is RUSSIAN.

Evening Courses of Czech Language In-person or ONLINE	2^nd trimester: January 5 – April 15, 2021 3^rd trimester: April 20 – July 29, 2021	3^rd trimestr: April 4, 2021		Students will acquire and develop language competence and communication skills of Czech language. The content of the course might be adapted to meet the needs of the students.

From Fungal Morphology to Genotype	September 18 - 25, 2021	March 31, 2021		During this course (4EU+project) students will have the opportunity to combine field sampling and classical morphology based identifying of fungi with analysis of their molecular DNA sequence of selected molecular markers.

Czech as a Foreign Language Methodological Course for Compatriots	August 23 – September 3, 2021	August 15, 2021		The Methodological Course for Compatriots is intended for lecturers, teachers and other participants from compatriot communities who teach or plan to teach Czech outside the Czech Republic. An important part of the course is also the exchange of experiences from various foreign institutions and centres.
