Eighth Liblice Conference
on the Statistical Mechanics of Liquids
The Venue
The 8th Liblice Conference on the Statistical Mechanics of Liquids will be held in hotel Myslivna. In the 1860's a citizen of Brno built a restaurant in the forest overlooking the part of the city known as Pisárky, which soon became a popular excursion destination for Brno's inhabitants. Regular visitors also included celebrities, writers, composers, and artists. The original restaurant was later turned into a poultry farm, before finally being demolished. In 1942 and 1943, German soldiers erected a building in the Pisárky forests which they called Jägerhaus (Hunting lodge) and used as a club. After the war the building, also furnished in the period style, was turned into a restaurant and soon again became a popular spot for inhabitants of Brno for its wonderful view of the city and its excellent cuisine. Finally, it served as a hunting lodge for the communist party elite until the end of the communist regime in 1989.
