FZU – Researchers’ Night experienced through all our senses. We thank you all who tasted our offer, smelled the sweet odour of science, touched the Philosopher‘s stone, listened for the call of cosmic distances and became stunned and speechless for a moment at the wonders of the natural world.

Researchers’ Night in Ládví was visited by over 650 curious visitors.

A levitating train and a non-newtonian fluid became the comeback hits of this year’s Different City Experience festival. The two succeeded in the tough competition of seductively smelling pancakes and coffee served by a local bistro, they had been arranged primarily for children by the Institute of Physics.

A total of 59 women registered for this year's L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Talent Programme, including Evgenia Chitrova from the FZU. Together with two other scientists, Eva Krupičková Pluhařová and Zuzana Střížová, she has won an award for her work.

On Wednesday 9 June 2021, we joined the fifth year’s program of the m3 Festival / Art in Space by unveiling a sculpture by Anežka Hošková at the premises of the FZU in Ořechovka.

The Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences participated in Researchers´ Night together with other research institutions on Friday 27 November 2020. This time it had to be made on-line.

Michael Londesborough's borane show and Martin Ledinsky's non-Newtonian fluid has become, without precedent, the biggest hit of this year's neighbourhood festival called The Different City Experience. In addition to science popularization presentations, participants could sew a bag, play ping-pong or watch an evening laser show.

The Institute of Physics has launched a new version of its website today that represents a fundamental shift away from its previous Internet presentation.
