The VIII-th Symposium on Surface Physics to be held in Trest Castle
follows previous
international surface science meetings in the Czech
Republic: Smolenice Castle (1971 and 1984), Bechyne Castle (1980 and 1987), Chlum Castle (1990 and
1993) and Trest Castle (1996).
The size, form and scope of the symposium should be similar to those of
previous meetings, with around 20 invited speakers and up to 100
participants.
At this meeting crystallographic and electron structure aspects
of surface physics will be emphasized.
Short communication and poster sessions will also be held.
The Symposium will take place at the Trest
Castle, Czech
Republic, 150 km east of Praha (Prague, Prag), near Jihlava. The Symposium lectures
start by the opening address on Monday, June 28, 1999. The symposium ends
on Friday afternoon, July 2.

Bus departure from Prague on Monday, June 28th:
There will be special buses to Trest from Praha on Monday, June 28th at 10:15 a.m. and from Trest to Praha on Friday, July 2nd arriving to Praha by 4:00 p.m. Participants should gather in the hall of the main railway station "Praha - hlavni nadrazi (also called Wilsonovo nadrazi)" on Monday, June 28th 15 minutes before the bus departure.
